Helping people Heal from Sexual Trauma. In the Latino community, no one knows the real numbers on how often sexual abuse occurs. In this book, ten amazing individuals have come forward to have the uncomfortable discussion and share their stories of healing and hope. Sexual trauma is a topic that has been taboo because it has been too painful to discuss. However, by ignoring the topic the cycle continues and the next generation will experience the same agony. It is a subject that as a society we have not discussed until very recently with the wave of the "Me too" movement. The Me Too movement has opened the floodgates and catapulted the conversation to the forefront of the news. Many powerful individuals are now being held accountable for their actions. The intentions of sharing the stories are to give real-life examples of how these individuals have overcome their horrific life experiences and help others start their healing journey. The message of community and not feeling alone is the core of recovering from a traumatic experience. The book was organized by the "Yo Tambi n Healing Movement" a movement started in Los Angeles by three women with the idea of starting the difficult conversation in the Latino community. Yo Tambi n is Spanish for Me Too. Once the conversation has risen to the surface the community can start to heal. The ultimate goal with the healing movement is that everyone involved will heal and it will eventually no longer be a painful thorn in the heart of the Latino Community. #yotambien #metoolatinx #curandotrauma
