Dee Dupree loves her new home in Elberton, Georgia, where she's just secured a job teaching history. Sharing an apartment with her best friend, Emmy, and starting a romance with Emmy's brother, it seems that everything is almost perfect in Dee's life. But Elberton has brought out weird feelings in Dee, and when she buys a pair of eyeglasses at an estate sale -- glasses that belonged to a girl who disappeared more than four decades ago -- the strange sensations blossom into nightmares.
