Beskrivelse
The tradition among British historians has been to call the series of wars that took place in Great Britain and Ireland in the mid 17th century the English Civil Wars. This is many respects is misleading as fighting took place in all of the Three Kingdoms (England, Scotland and Ireland) plus the Principality of Wales that were ruled over by the Stuart dynasty. In theory the entire British Isles been ruled by the same dynasty should have brought strength and unity yet instead it brought war and chaos. The different sections of this book will explore the causes of the British wars, and the consequences of the conflicts. Although the monarchy was eventually restored the Three Kingdoms would never be the same again.
