Bio-Energy Resources play an important role in rural area development both in its social development as well as economic development. Use of Fuelwood, Agro-residues and cow dung have been the main stay for domestic rural energy supply. Intensive efforts in India to exploit different source of energy and upgradation of traditional technologies has resulted promotion of activities in the Academic, Research Institutions and Industries. As a result of these efforts in India, activities related to Biofuels has moved in at a fast pace. Initial promotional efforts were found on R&D in the Government supported Institutions in the country. Recent efforts for promotion of industries has now led to activation of the industry. The Bio-Energy Society of India being the premier organisation, working with the aim of promotion of biofuel found its attention on the role of bio energy in rural industrialization at its last National Bio Energy Convention. Various things carried out at the convention, included. The book contains contribution of Officials, Scientists and Technologists, Industrialists and NGO's working in the field of Bio Energy. The book provides insight into the present status and the policies for implementation of progress I related to Bio-Energy Resources in India.
