Wow! High School. A moment in life where you finally realize what your parents tried telling you when you were little. "Never grow up," they said. "Stay little for as long as possible," they said. But the fact is that we never wanted to listen to what they had to tell us. We wanted to be grown and out on our own. Now that we are here, we want to leave. And growing up in a rural area doesn't help either. Dealing with conflicts and fears, relationships and identities, troubles with parents and expectations, being a student-athlete, stress, anxiety, and even mental exhaustion. Is it just about the bad, though? What about our heroes, memories, traditions, and more? The Wisdom Writers helps you realize this is more than just a book. It's a safe place where teens feel safe to talk in hopes of raising awareness.
¿Wisdom Writers is a compilation of memoirs from high school students at the University Charter School in Livingston, AL. Focusing on conflicts, fears, relationships, parent expectations, stress and anxiety, and mental exhaustion, students examine and describe their experiences as high school students in a rural area.
