Winds of the Bitterroots

Winds of the Bitterroots, begins with a mountain man who comes down from his homestead to establish a will for a grandson who will be born 100 years in the future.

Sean Michael Protz, a retired military officer out of the 7th Cavalry, also seeks medical attention at Fort Missoula for a mysterious illness. We follow his adventures in subduing owl hoots and being recalled back into the Army.



The Sean Michael Protz of the present retires from the military and journeys to Missoula Montana to meet with the attorney representing his great grandfather's will. In order to qualify as a recipient of his great grandfather's estate he has to become a true Westerner, learning to shoot and ride in the old ways.

The tale is sequenced back and forth between 100 years ago and the present, with a touch of romance, as the main characters are thrust into the cauldron of adversity during actual historical events.
