Willingness to take up malaria control method in Uganda

My name is Wadunde Ignatius. I was born and raised in Tororo district, eastern Uganda. After finishing a bachelor¿s degree at Makerere University, I returned to my home town to work as a Medical Laboratory technologist at the Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC), at the Tororo district general hospital. In this poor, rural district of Tororo, like any district in Uganda, there are many public health challenges that lead to morbidity and mortality especially among pregnant mothers and children under five year. The aforementioned experiences sparked my interests in public health. In Tororo district,in Uganda just like most countries in the sub Saharan Africa and globally, malaria is one of the major public health problems; and it remains one of the major cause of morbidity and mortality burden as well as economic burden. This study assessed willingness to take up IRS to prevent malaria in their homes.
