Beskrivelse

The second in a trilogy detailing a disabled mother bringing up three children in a particularly turbulent time in British history. It is only with a great deal of grit and determination that the author not only survives living 40% below the poverty line but also teaches the community in which she lives how to do so. On entering the workplace she effects great changes in the field of care bringing back hope and dignity to the elderly infirm who'd had to conform to rules set by those supposed to be caring for them. Rules which had been instigated to make the carer's lives easier rather than enhance patient care. The author then successfully fosters deeply disturbed children. The joys and difficulties are described with much humour and love for those in her charge. Insightful, funny, thought provoking and very moving. You will laugh and you will cry.
