Beskrivelse
This book is a close examination of one of the longest enduring mysteries of the Great Lakes. On Tuesday December 7, 1909, the railroad car ferry Marquette & Bessemer No. 2. left Conneaut, Ohio, sailing into a brutal winter storm from which none would return. Over the next two days, accounts of the ship on both sides of the lake and widely scattered wreckage would add to the mystery. This book tells the story of that ship and crew and gives a glimpse into what life on a laker was like in 1909. Additionally, there is information about the railroad car ferries themselves. Finally, the book takes a deep dive into the circumstances surrounding the ship's loss and where her probable resting place is today.
