This book is remarkable and concise. Most histories are either given from a broad perspective or from the viewpoint of specific characters; however, this one does both while maintaining its readability.
The discovery that many of those responsible for terrorist acts, such as the bombing of London and Northern Ireland and the killing of unarmed civilians, experienced abnormally high rates of drug addiction, alcoholism, and PTSD after The Troubles had been declared over by the Good Friday Peace Agreement in 1998 was particularly startling.
