Marlie and David discover that their homestead would be bought by the coal and lumber company. But they would put their trust in God, and remember that He has a plan for it all. They stood by and watched as 30,000 acres became bald of virgin trees that stood throughout that region. David gets a job lumber jacking and partakes in the process that takes them from the wilderness farmstead they raised their family on to a company house with running water and electricity.
