When I Looked Up

When I Looked Up is the spiritual journey of a young woman who, after being diagnosed with a life threatening illness, searches her soul only to find she's headed in the wrong direction. Through a pleading prayer, Jennifer surrenders to her soul's will and is thrust in a direction she never imagined--to help children in need. As the universe shifts to meet her on her new path, Jennifer learns her mission begins at an orphanage in Ghana, Africa. Choosing to travel alone to a third-world country, Jennifer questions the sanity of her decision. She searches for reassurance from her friends and family, but none comes, except from her one dearest uncle: "You will regret it more if you don't go. This is something you must do." Adjusting to the harsh geographic conditions and lack of food is minuscule in comparison to the belief systems, poverty level, and abuse of children Jennifer witnesses daily.
