Cary J Stegman earned his MD degree from the University of Michigan. He practiced diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine for forty years, witnessing awesome advances in medical imaging technologies greatly improving patient care. Yet he realized that his care for patients had limitations imposed by societal detriments--poor critical thinking, ill-conceived and constraining dogma/superstition, as well as poor insurance and public policy embraced, occasionally by healthcare personnels, and more significantly by the general public.
His first published book, The New Old Testament, was an attempt to awaken people to the why and how of their poor critical thinking. He also wrote and spoke to state legislators about a new approach to end-of-life medical intervention. In his blog, www.jigSawpuzzlings.com, he addresses medical and other societal concerns.
