The author is a servant leader that made the 1976 Olympic team in the triple jump and was selected team captain. He was also a front runner for the run for mayor in 2020. He leads by example, laughs at himself, and loves the people around him. The unexpected turns in life did not deter him from continuing to achieve.

The book is inspirational due to the strong faith exhibited during the author's journey.

The curtains are pulled back to take you on a journey of an athlete who Hops to the Olympics; Steps into the military; and Jumps into politics. This process became known as the next Triple Jump.
