Beskrivelse

This is our 3rd collection of poems dedicated to the world we live in: a world we are destroying because of our meanness.

In fact, just 3% of world's ecosystems remain intact, studies suggest, and they too are rapidly deteriorating - to the point that many species will not be able to keep up with the pace of change, and will disappear. So I do not know for how long, those who will come after us, will be able to say, with Wendell Berry, "I rest in the grace of the world."

Climate change is the key to understanding why so many (only apparently "natural") disasters are occurring. Indeed, climate change is happening because of our reckless behavior.

The remarkable change in climatic conditions in the last decades is a phenomenon that varies, in space and time, in the different regions of the globe, so not all of us experience the same changes. This is the main reason why there are people who, either consciously or unconsciously, deny that such variations are real. But it's now impossible to turn a blind eye to the climate emergency: the rise in temperature, the growing vulnerability of wildlife and biodiversity, changes in the sea level and the multiplication of natural disasters with increasingly disastrous consequences, are there for all to see.

In this diverse collection of poems, we gaze pensively ahead two, possibly three generations, wondering aloud how much of what our grandparents took for granted will still surround or enrich human society.

Ultimately, the question, "Which planet for our grandchildren?", is addressed to all of us.
