What is Growing in the Garden?

This book is an excellent resource to support a garden unit, earth day celebration, and learning about plants and animals found in a garden. Children will identify various types of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. They will develop words and object recognition. They will also identify a garden as a place in their community. After reading the story, parents and teachers have avenues to embed numerous activities and elicit children to develop math, reading, communication, social and science skills.
