"A sparkling debut novel. Plenty of action and great characters." --Robert Broomall, author of Texas Kingdoms and The Dispatch Rider
What if a gunslinger killed your unarmed father and you had to catch him, but you have a gimpy left leg, you've never been ten miles from home, and you've never shot a pistol?
Eighteen year-old Zeke Halstead must join his uncle and his grandfather, a U.S. Marshal, in pursuit of the killer and his partner. Uncle Billy hasn't spoken to his father, Marshal Henry McNichol, in over ten years, and he doesn't want to join the hunt, but does so for Zeke's sake. The trio track the gunman west across 1871 Kansas.
Zeke fears the gunslinger will kill all three of them, but once on the trail comes to realize there's near enough hate between his two relatives as the three have for the gunslinger.
