Beskrivelse
Welfare can take a variety of forms, such as monetary payments, subsidies and vouchers, health services, or housing. Welfare may be provided directly by governments or their agencies, by private organizations, or by a combination. The term welfare state is used to describe a state in which the government provides the majority of welfare services; the phrase also describes those services collectively. Welfare may be funded by governments out of general revenue, typically by way of redistributive taxation. Welfare can be provided by governments, non-governmental organizations, or a combination of the two. India is the seventh largest country in the world with a population of 846 million (1991 Census), belonging to varied religious and cultural groups, spread over a diverse geographical area. As human development moves centre-stage in the global development debate, child development issues are gradually emerging as major challenges. The book would be of great value for the students as well as the teachers for welfare and all topic related this field.
