Beskrivelse
Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH), a rare form of adrenal insufficiency, is a genetic condition that impacts the adrenal glands' ability to produce essential hormones (cortisol and aldosterone). At diagnosis, parents of children with CAH are often overwhelmed by questions about what this means for their child's future and fears about whether they will be able to manage their child's treatment effectively. This handbook aims to educate brand-new CAH parents and caretakers about the basics of the condition, emergency protocols, and day-to-day treatment. It also hopes to ease some of the most common worries that parents experience. Although it is not a substitute for medical advice, it offers accessible information, practical tips, helpful resources, and real-life examples direct from a parent of a CAH child.
All proceeds from this book will be donated to CAH-related nonprofit organizations.
