Beskrivelse
The origin of our enjoyment of word-play can be traced through the ages back to when we first developed the capacity for language. According to one theory, it may well be that language emerged from a sense of playfulness. Perhaps the first verbal guessing games were a pastime for amusement inspired by a curiosity about the world. Later, they served as a way to pass down culture and tradition to the next generation-what we all know now as the familiar nursery rhyme. In that spirit, the riddles in this book capture present time observations and also provide a poetic challenge to the imagination.
