After signing the divorce papers that sever her from the only man she's ever loved, Mara is lost in an endless cycle of songless pain that hinders her attempts to accept her ex-husband's infidelity and reclaim her love of singing. When the shy little girl from next door befriends her, she meets her father, Sean, who seems like he can't stand the sight of her. Dealing with his own ghosts, Sean tries to protect his daughter but also becomes protective of Mara as they get to know each other.
