The Triolet is part of the Rondeau family of poems, which in turn is derived from 'dance-rounds,' with singing. The refrain was sung by the chorus and the variable sections by the leader. The word 'Triolet' has two pronunciations in English according to several dictionaries. The first rhymes with 'let' and the second rhymes with 'Chevrolet.'
