In this sequel to Walking with the Shadow of Love, Walking with Two Shadows continues exploring the afterlife of our beloved pets and the experiences of their owners who have sensed contacts from their departed animals. It continues the story of the author's therapy dog, Lakota--who served over two thousand people in the course of his life--until his departure, and his remarkable contacts from beyond the Rainbow Bridge with the author. It also discusses Lakota's successful stem cell procedure, which restored his mobility after he had lost his ability to run, and jump, and move without pain, due to arthritis. The story of Lakota's best friend, Cooper is also continued. Walking with Two Shadows includes the story of her next dog--an abused, abandoned rescue with anxiety disorder, O.C.D., blanket sucking/tooth grinding disorder, containment anxiety, and leash reactivity--and follows the dog's incredible transformation into a calm, polite dog who can trust humans and love again. This book includes stories of others who have experienced afterlife visits from their animals, including a disaster relief therapy dog who served victims' families and first responders in the aftermath of the World Trade Center disaster, an unwanted dog from an unscrupulous breeder, a rescue cat who succumbs to cancer at a young age, and other poignant tales, ending with the incredible story of a couple who loses their only son and witnesses a surprising turn of events at the moment of his passing. The author delves into why some people receive these contacts and possible neurological reasons why some people can detect these visits. She also assures people who have lost their pets and who have not received contact from them that it is not because they are loved less and tells of her grieving previous dogs she loved and lost, but from whom she never received any afterlife contact. There is also information about empaths. Walking with Two Shadows can be enjoyed as a sequel or on its own.
