Vow of Lies

For the last twelve years, I have been a no-one. 

I have had no friends, no family, and no name. 

I have kept to myself through my daily duties as a servant of the Veil. 

I bless those as I pass them in a religion I know nothing about. 

I am beaten, tortured, and starved as punishment for not being meek enough. 

It all changes with the whisper of my name,

My life now has a purpose but what could it possibly be?
