The study focuses on the analysis of the fictional status of narrative works in literary studies. It aims at answering two closely related questions and reaching coherence between its proposals: What is fictionality and nonfictionality? And: What is the fictional status of Max Frischs "Montauk" (1975) and Lukas Barfuss' "Koala" (2014)
