Original sculptures and poems that touch on a wide variety of topics from global warming to chemotherapy to the crises and insights of middle age. The expressive human-like ceramic creatures and their rhyming verse provide a framework for viewing the world, serious but not to be taken too seriously. The book is a portable art exhibit--- you can keep a copy near the commode at home and carry a copy with you to the coffee shop on Sunday morning. Sculpture and poetry, art for the walls of the mind's gallery. "Viscous drag" refers to the resistance and struggle of moving forward in our daily environment. The idea presents itself in a myriad of forms: pressures at work, commitments of home and family, efforts to control and discipline ourselves toward desired goals. Maybe our issues are deeper, more troublesome, or maybe the 24-hour day is just too short for all we want to accomplish. With life, it is said to be not the destination that matters, but the journey. It is precisely our interaction with the viscosity and drag of our daily environment--- the decisions we make, struggles we encounter, challenges we select--- these are the things that make up our journey and make us who we are.
