In 1886 Friedrich Nietzsche published Beyond Good and Evil: Prelude to a Philosophy of the Future, in anticipation that the "philosophers of the future" would one day come and find what he knew was always there but would not live long enough to find himself. This being said, Nietzsche was "trying to prove" that there was no such thing as "good and evil." Unfortunately Nietzsche passed away before he could explain why this was the case.
