The Internet is a fabulous tool -- useful for research, entertainment, and maintaining social connections. It can also prove a treacherous thoroughfare, masking true identities and concealing counterfeit motives. VIRTUALLY YOURS explores the on-and-offline relationships of six friends -- and one unknown interloper. Thanks to the prodding of sassy Manhattanite Janna Abraham, the Virtual Moms allow North Carolina stay-at-home parent and romance novelist Asheley MacDaniel, entree into their club. Recently widowed by action in the Iraq War and alone with an adorable young son, Ashe is a sympathetic figure. Although some of the other members initially balk, Ashe fits in easily -- perhaps too easily -- sharing valuable insights on the personal dramas of Missy and Laurel, while gaining a strong rapport with Ally and Diana. Skeptical Celia is not as easily swayed as her friends. Who is this Asheley MacDaniel, and why are the VMs in virtual love with this newbie? Why is Ashe so secretive, and why won't she email photos of her and her five-year-old? And who was the stranger who answered the phone when Celia called? What the Virtual Moms don't know is that Ashe is a man, and what's more, he thinks he's in love with Janna. Ashe's flamboyant younger brother prods him from the wings to reveal his gender, but the farce continues until disaster strikes. Persistent phone calls threaten to expose him. As Ashe lands a book deal, Celia has enlisted the services of a private investigator and the truth now lies in an envelope in her hands.
