USS Aspro (Ss309)

Joe Milner grew up in the seaside community of Newport, RI. At eighteen he left school and enlisted in the United States Navy. His preference was to serve aboard Submarines. He completed submarine training in New London, Conn. His first duty assignment was aboard a the USS _________. Due to an electrical injury, he missed the Subs departure. The ======= was lost at sea withy all hands.Thus his nickname was born, "Lucky." Reassigned to the USS Astro SS309 he wrote and kept a recollection of the Subs patrol in the Bay of Toyko.
