Beskrivelse

The monograph presents a political analysis of the use of US military force. It explores rational and irrational approaches that conceptually explain the peculiarities of the use of American military force today. As part of the rational approach, the theoretical aspects of deterrence strategy are analyzed. An irrational approach to the use of U.S. military force through the prism of the peculiarities of American strategic culture and its manifestation in the strategy of deterrence and the war in Iraq is studied. Various concepts explaining the current use of U.S. military force are considered. Functional and geostrategic measurements of the transformation of the armed forces and "revolution in military affairs" within the framework of Bush and Rumsfeld doctrines are studied. This work is intended for international and national security professionals, faculty, graduate students, and students of international relations and U.S. foreign and defense policy.
