What the Constitution gives, law takes. Law, as written by special interests and enacted by the legislature guts the Constitution. Recently, the Supreme Court has stated that the 5th Amendment constitutional principle matters. There is now some hope that reforming the law to effectuate the supreme law of the land is possible.
