Beskrivelse

Lillian Freedman was born in Toronto to a family of immigrants from war-torn Europe. She graduated from Harbord Collegiate in 1960, and was the first in her family to attend university. She completed her Masters of Social Work as the sixties era unfolded, and remains a staunch advocate for peace, love and folk music, now from the right side of the political spectrum. For more than two decades she has been researching and working in the area of homelessness. Her private practice focuses on early intervention and treatment for mental illness. This book will be useful to anyone who is looking for a clear, concise and comprehensive understanding of the homelessness phenomenon. Freedman, a mother of three and grandmother of four, still resides in downtown Toronto and hopes to retire to a villa overlooking the Mediterranean. Originally published in 2011, this 2nd edition includes a short update by the author.
