The Essay Paper is a compulsory paper in the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination with 250 marks at stake.An aspirant will have to write two essays, each with a word count of 1000 - 1200. One topic can be selected from a choice of four topics.Writing a meaningful andimpressive essay within the prescribed word limit needs lot of preparationand practice. This collection of past years" essay papers (since 1993) provides ample illustrative essays to familiarize the aspirant with the way of writing essays. All the essays are within the prescribed word limit and are further arranged according to various broad topics.
