Imagine a night when the Aurora Borealis flares and a strange event descends upon our world. Some might refer to it as a religious rapture. Fundamentalist believers disappear from the world. In addition to the disappearance of the raptured, some laws of nature, such as electrical charges and chemical reactions, appear to be altered. The unraptured are left struggling to survive. Can they maintain the society they have built? Can they build a new world?
