When reserved Macy Windsor's college sweetheart divorces her just before she turns 31, she feels like she should be having a baby right now instead of suddenly becoming single. While she's mourning her lost marriage with her much bolder bestie, Lorna, at their girls' night in, her friend is instead celebrating Macy's freedom. And when Macy mentions her thwarted hopes of becoming a mother soon, Lorna is the first to assure her she doesn't need a husband to have a baby.

Macy is shocked to learn that Lorna is part-owner of a secret breeding club that helps women that have partner issues rather than infertility issues try to get pregnant. When Macy eventually decides to become a Club Isis client, she's matched with Rory, a club stud who is getting ready to retire after paying his way through college and grad school.

But when both parties start feeling more between them than just a business relationship, things get more complicated. Add to that the fact that Rory is really Roarke Lancaster, the estranged son of Bruce Lancaster, publishing house magnate-who happens to be Macy's boss. When his secret identity comes to light, things get messy. Macy-and Roarke-have to figure out how they really feel.
