Nkem, an Otani warrior, rescues and falls in love with Uredo, days before marriage, Ekwumekwu warriors try to protect his motherland from takeover by the white men. Conversion to Christianity brings turmoil and leads to retribution, but Nkem returns to his betrothed as things a new turn.
