Beskrivelse
The Viet Nam War was the seminal event during the lifetimes of many American baby-boomers, both those who served and those who didn't. This book traces my two years, seven months and fourteen days in the United States Army from my 1969 enlistment until my separation in 1972, including a one-year tour of duty in Viet Nam. It includes my Basic Training cycle, language school, MOS training and the time spent "in-country." Having been stationed exclusively in the southern part of the country, my exposure to the war is very place-specific. Also, having a non-combat MOS, the reader gets a certain perspective one might not from watching traditional Viet Nam movies. Many interesting people crossed my path during this time, and much was learned about them and about life in general. Most people who have never been in the military have a difficult time understanding this kind of experience, but hopefully reading such an account may open windows on life not otherwise available.
