Beskrivelse
Callie Larson is a fifty-year old mother of three college and adult children. She lives a storybook life of affluence and access married to a prominent, Washington, D.C. political consultant. But when their final child heads off to college college, Callie's life shifts from overactive mom to a new, unfamiliar emptiness. Her large home becomes too quiet. And her husband makes the declaration he has no interest in reducing his extensive business travel to be with her.
When Callie is shown a Facebook post by her first love and former fiancée as a joke just after her husband abandons her for a boys golf weekend, her loneliness and confusion elevates to get out of town for the weekend. The post is an open invitation to all his friends to visit his new oceanfront cottage where he is living by himself, divorced, and retired. After joking with a mutual friend that his cottage is just a few hours drive from her mother's home, the seed is planted to make a seemingly ill-advised day trip to just see him from afar. A trip that results in an accidental run-in that opens a weekend of rediscovery, truths, and a mountain of internal conflicts related to her family, faith, and true desire to be happy.
TWO ONCE REMOVED is a character novel that delivers on the conflicting stresses of relationships, family, and faith at the critical transition period between family and empty-nest where true happiness lies in the balance, and past regrets weigh heavy.
