Twas The Day Of The Chess Tournament

This is the story of a team's first time playing in a chess tournament. While it is a fictional story, the actions and feelings do occur with new chess players on a regular basis. This is the perfect story to give a child embarking on their first chess tournament although it would also be good for kids reflecting on their first tournament. Coach Coy is based on author, Molly Coy, who believes healthy competition is important while still maintaining a great overall attitude. She also believes that chess is a great way to facilitate important life skills as well.
