Women and Politics in Nagaland delves into the core of contemporary Naga society to understand the nature of political participation of women against the larger picture of their often ambivalent standing in the patriarchal social set-up. Toshimenla Jamir questions the patriarchal ideology that affects them as citizens of the State. Despite the contextual setting of the book, the subject matter is relevant to many tribal societies around the country where traditionally women are excluded from all forms of political activity rendering them politically incapable.
