Deacon Price is an emotionally broken underwater archaeologist. He's been suffering from horrific visions, keeping big secrets from his family and friends - and to make matters worse, his daughter Evie is suffering from a long-term illness which he is struggling to cope with. Deacon lies to his employers about his true motivation for finding the Russian submarine, and assembles a crew to go deep beneath the waves to explore it.

The story gets progressively darker, and more intense and horrifying as it goes along.
