Torty's experience at Houston Elementary was filled with surprising turns of events and touching moments. His slow pace was the only reason his peers teased and bullied him from the time he walked into the busy schoolyard. But in the face of hardship, Torty found a true friend in Benny the Rabbitt, whose unfailing acceptance and kindness helped him get through the challenges of school life.

Together, Torty and Benny took on a slew of unanticipated crises, rescuing a stuck Chicken and foiling Devil Fox's nefarious schemes. Despite his poor speed, Torty repeatedly showed a keen sense of humor, fast thinking, and compassion. Torty gained much insight into friendship, resiliency, and the value of seeing past outward appearances with Benny's help and the company of new acquaintances.
