Tome of the Utility Drawer collects all of the add-ons from the first eight Places by the Way/Found by the Way modules into one place. Each entry briefly discusses the background of that particular thing. Of course, it's up to you to figure out how to use this material in your own campaign. But if you want to know more about its original context, that points you in the appropriate direction.
