A good night sleep, a good breakfast, and loving parents may not have been enough to quiet the jitters.
Tolly Turtle is a little nervous about his first day of kindergarten. Most importantly, he doesn't want to be late. His fears leave him as he meets people, like the crossing guard and the school security person, along the way. The school itself is beyond expectation helping to create additional comfort to the new student. Inside his new school, the hall monitor guides him to class, where he meets his new teacher. His class room is beyond imagination with pictures, charts, and birthday balloons. He still sees no other kids. He finds out he is not late, but early for his first day. To Tolly's surprise, there was no need to worry everything was in place to help make his new adventure truly...Amazing
Mother and biology major, Larraine Gowans BS, takes an anthromorphic approach to helping kids transition in their multistage life journey. Tolly Turtle is the first in this animal kingdom adventure. Kids getting ready for kindergarten, as in this book, will easily identify with Tolly and face the first day with confidence. Kids in kindergarten will relate and mark confidence as they share social mile stones with others.
