Tir's Trial: A Fantasy Short Story

This is a Short Story about a young man experiencing the coming of age ceremony traditional to his tribe of warriors. Tir is dropped in the woods surrounding his village where bandits, carnivorous plants, and ravenous wolves hunt. Elves hunt the woods as well seeking their greatest foe the Ivelk, a race of fallen elves who feed off blood. Tir must survive a period of time and find his way back to his village before sunset on the final day of his trial. If he fails he will be excommunicated and abandoned to the woods. If he does pass the test he may lose more than his boyhood in the process. How much does belonging matter to him and to where do his loyalties lie in the end?
