Beskrivelse
38 contributions with different Egyptological tematics. In general, this collection of studies has been written by numerous scholars who have focussed on problems and discoveries in the chronology, history, palaeography and architecture of ancient Egypt in the age of the pyramids. The subject matter reflects the wide-ranging interests of the preeminent Egyptologist, Miroslav Verner, renowned for his book, The Pyramids. Undoubtedly due to its profusion of different topics, this volume will be of interest to a wide selection of readers. Each of the articles either provides an up-to-date look at some problem, or it announces the discovery of some new tomb or new facet of information in Egyptology. A handful of papers investigate literary topics, while a small number of other articles give us an insight into the ongoing history of more modern times. All of them are written with the authority of writers who know Egypt and its history personally and well.
