Mangrove islands with their shoals, snarled tangles of greys and rusty sands, smells of sunlit browns and humid golden greens, tastes of salt laden air and clusters of life that rarely are seen outside their nursery with clusters of sea oats pulse gullies of warm waters snaking thru crevasses. This volume of illustrated prose speaks to the awe created by these untouched worlds and the beaches that existed in small sleepy beach villages of Florida before the 60s when I was growing up
