Throw Away the Microwave and Cook From the Crockpot

Here are some questions to ponder: Did you know that only 5% of churches in the United States have a sound discipleship program? Does your church evangelize? How is your church teaching discipleship? About three years ago, my wife and I started on this quest to make disciples. God burned it on our hearts to live out the Great Commission and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19). When we found out the church, we were attending said they made disciples, but it was microwave lessons, hot and fast. Spiritual formation needs to be full of crockpot lessons, slow, understandable, and thorough. Pastor Vontenken Rolle from Nassau, Bahamas, once asked me if there are any new revelations in this book. I replied no, just old ones that sorely need revisiting-time to throw away the microwave and cook from the crockpot.
