According to a 2009 report from the accounting and business management firm, Ernst & Young, as many as 5.6 million Americans under the age of 34 are actively trying to start their own business. Furthermore, E&Y reported that one third of new entrepreneurs are younger than 30 and more than 60% of people 18-29 years of age stated they want to own their own businesses.
