Dr Love traces the growthand changes in hagiographical writing, one of the most important genres of medieval literature and essential to the understanding of the religious mentality of the Middle Ages, and shows how the eleventh century saw significant new directions emerge in the cult of the saints and the writing ofsaints' lives.
